Privacy Policy for QontactR

This page describes the rebuilt QontactR release represented in this repository and is intended to serve as the stable public privacy policy URL for the next App Store submission.

Effective date

March 27, 2026

Summary

  • QontactR does not require account creation or sign-in.
  • QontactR does not include analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs in the rebuilt release.
  • Your contact draft, profile selections, scan history, and default or pinned profile choices are stored locally on your device.
  • Camera, Contacts, photo library, Siri, and Apple Watch integration are used only for features you choose to invoke.
  • QontactR is designed so the core create, share, scan, and reopen flows work without a backend account system.

Information Stored On Device

QontactR stores your contact draft, profile definitions, pinned or default profile selections, recent scan history, and related app state locally on your device. In the rebuilt release, this state is persisted in local app storage, using the shared app group container when available and a local Application Support fallback otherwise.

If you generate a share artifact, export local data, or prepare content for share sheets, the app may create local files on your device for that action. These files are created only when you request them.

If you use Apple Watch surfaces, QontactR may generate a local watch sync snapshot so pinned or default profile QR content can be made available on the paired watch.

Permissions and System Integrations

Contacts access is requested only when you choose to import your own contact card or save a scanned contact into Apple's Contacts database.

Camera access is used only for live QR scanning. Photo library access is used only when you choose to scan a QR code from a saved image.

Siri and Shortcuts support is used to let you reopen specific profiles or jump back into a sharing flow more quickly. Apple Watch sync uses Apple's device frameworks to move selected sharing data to a paired watch when that feature is enabled by usage.

How QontactR Uses Information

The local information stored by QontactR is used only to operate the app on your device: building QR codes from your selected fields, reopening the right profile quickly, keeping recent scans available for review, and restoring your chosen defaults.

If you save a scanned contact, the imported contact details are written into your local Contacts database at your request.

Data Sharing

QontactR does not upload your contact draft, profile data, or scan history to a Maavu backend because the rebuilt release does not use an account or sync service for those flows.

QontactR does not share app usage data with analytics providers, ad networks, or tracking services in the rebuilt release.

If you use the system share sheet, save a contact to Contacts, or send a support email, the data involved is sent only to the destination or app you choose or to Maavu Technologies Inc. when you deliberately contact support.

Retention and Control

Locally stored QontactR data remains on your device until you edit it, reset the app's data, save over it with new values, or remove the app.

If you send a support email, that message may be retained in the company inbox for troubleshooting and normal support record keeping.

Children's Privacy

QontactR does not require an account and does not include analytics or tracking SDKs in the rebuilt release.

If you believe personal information was sent to Maavu Technologies Inc. by a child through a support email, contact support@maavu.net and the request can be reviewed.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if QontactR's privacy behavior, permissions, or data handling changes. When that happens, the effective date on this page will also be updated.
